Seawater and seaweed are rich in antioxidants and minerals including zinc, potassium, magnesium and iodine. Bathing in seawater and seaweed are known for lowering body stress, relieving skin conditions, easing muscle aches and joint stiffness, improving circulation and calming the nervous system.

You will be immersed in your experience for six hours and you are bound to work up an appetite. Pack a lunch, bring beverages of your choosing, and a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated as you sweat. A chilled Yeti cooler is included to keep your food and beverages cold. Bring consumable ice if you would like, and limit alcohol consumption for your own safety. Bring a bathing suit, towel and flip flops or deck shoes. Extra towels, robes and blankets are provided. Dress for the weather, including suitable shoes. Bathing suits are optional on private trips. ;)

Seaweed bathing is such a great detoxifying process that it is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy and may interact with some healthcare treatments. Please consult your healthcare provider prior to booking if you have any health concerns, including but not limited to pregnancy, heart disease and blood pressure issues.

Adjust the temperature of the seaweed tubs to as hot or as cool as you like — you are in full control. Keep the tubs hot by stoking the fire with the wood provided and add cold ocean water to the tubs to cool them down. As with any hot tub experience, stay hydrated, limit immersion time if you keep the tubs hot, and move slowly after getting out of the tubs as light headedness may occur at hotter temperatures. The Moon Jelly wood fired hot tubs are crafted by Goodland and are designed for ritual and relaxation as you stoke your fire, stir your water, and immerse yourself in the experience.

We are fortunate enough to have some of the world’s most beautiful salt water off our floating dock. Ocean swimming or plunging is encouraged, keeping in mind our colder Pacific North West water temperatures. Luckily, the inlet is significantly warmer than the open ocean for added swimming comfort. While we do see natural changes to the ocean fauna and flora and even jellyfish blooms, we consult with a local marine biologist to keep us informed throughout the year. Please take the appropriate safety precautions while swimming. Life jackets provided.

Moon Jelly seaweed is sustainably harvested near Tofino. The species vary seasonally. In summer months, bull and giant kelp are plentiful and are one of the fastest growing species in the world, growing up to two feet per day. During the shoulder season, many other seaweed varieties freshly washed up and salvaged from the sea shore may be included in the tubs depending, on what the tide offers.

Moon Jelly is enjoyable rain or shine. With a covered lounge, a gas fire place, and cozy robes and blankets, it’s hard to say whether it’s better in the colder months, or when the sun is shining and the ocean is clear and warm for swimming! Due to the unique nature of this experience and its location, we reserve the right to cancel or alter your reservation for any reason, which may include high winds or poor visibility. A full refund will be provided.

Moon Jelly is an adventure day spa that requires some level of mobility to navigate stepping off and on boats, docks systems and in and out of tubs. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact us prior to booking and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.

We want you to feel good booking well in advance, knowing that you can make changes if unexpected life events occur. Prior to two weeks before your booking, cancellations will receive a full refund minus bank processing fees (approximately $15). If you cancel within the two week period, your deposit will not be refunded unless the date is rebooked by another party, in which time we will reimburse you $400 of your $500 deposit. If you are within the two week window of your visit and want to reschedule your time at Moon Jelly to a future date, you will be charged a $100 fee. If you are rescheduling before the two week window, all rescheduled date changes will have no additional charge.

While cellphone service is readily available from the bathhouse (and there is a power station to keep your devices charged—just remember to bring your charging cable), we recommend stepping away from the digital world as much as possible to take full advantage of the Moon Jelly experience.

Due to the open nature of our dock systems, we do not recommending bringing children under the age of eight. However, if you feel your child is a strong swimmer, will wear a life jacket for the duration and enjoys spending time with adults in relaxing environments, please contact us and we can offer spaces for children on a case-by-case basis.

While moon jellies are frequent visitors to the bay, Moon Jelly Bathhouse was named to attempt to describe the indescribable sensation of floating in a tub filled with seaweed, floating in the ocean on a watery planet, floating in space.

You never know what you might encounter! Keep an eye out for otters, seals, jellyfish, fish, sea cucumbers, star fish, eagles, herons, seagulls, swallows, ducks, porpoises, and even occasionally, orcas.

Moon Jelly is comparably priced to other water-based day excursions such as whale watching, hot springs tours and other on-the-water adventures. As we only offer one trip per day, special care and attention is put into cleaning and preparing Moon Jelly Bathhouse for your group's exclusive enjoyment and our costs remain close to the same whether we have a group of 2 or 10. The monetary value for guests is much better with larger parties but, the magic of Moon Jelly truly, is a bucket list spa experience of a lifetime, and the intimacy and solitude that smaller groups experience is priceless. Our guests are constantly blown away by their 6 hour, private Moon Jelly experience and rave about value. We are also incredibly passionate about making thalassotherapy accessible to as many people as possible, which is why we have added monthly Community Days.

While all other bookings are a customizable private experience for you and your group, we are offering a Monday monthly opportunity from 11am-5pm for singles, couples, and smaller groups of locals and visitors to enjoy the magic of Moon Jelly, while building community.
